Interior Boat Builder
Overview
We are currently seeking experienced Interior Boat Builders to join a busy marine engineering environment, working on high-quality vessels built for global use. This role is ideal for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a passion for craftsmanship, particularly within interior fit-out.
Working as part of a skilled team, you will be responsible for installing and finishing a range of interior components, ensuring all work meets high standards and project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Fitting a variety of boat furniture
- Installation of ply bulkheads
- Fitting cabin sole bearers and cabin doors
- Cladding bulkheads with polished veneered ply
- Fitting various fibreglass components
- Carrying out basic upholstery and vinyl work
- Fitting sole boards
- Occasional painting tasks
Requirements
- Relevant City & Guilds (C&G) qualification or equivalent
- Ideally a minimum of 2 years’ experience within the marine industry or similar carpentry/joinery background
- Experience working with timber and/or GRP vessels
- Strong attention to detail and high-quality finishing skills
- Ability to work to deadlines and as part of a team
