Job Description

Here’s a strong, conversion-focused Indeed advert, anonymised and written to attract the right field-based fire & construction engineers — while filtering out candidates who won’t handle travel or site work.

Field Service Engineer – Fire Alarm Installations (Construction)

M3 Corridor | London & Midlands Travel | Full-Time

Salary: Competitive + Performance Bonus + Regular Overtime
Hours: Monday–Friday, 07:30–17:00 (flexibility required)

The Opportunity

Broadreach Recruitment is supporting a specialist provider of temporary fire alarm systems for construction sites, with over 30 years of industry leadership.

We are seeking a proactive, customer-focused Junior Field Service Engineer to install and maintain radio-linked fire alarm systems across construction projects throughout London, the Midlands and occasionally nationwide.

If you enjoy working independently, travelling, and being hands-on in live site environments — this role offers strong earning potential and long-term progression.

The Role

You will install, service and troubleshoot wireless fire alarm systems on active construction sites.

Full product training is provided. Experience with similar radio-linked security or fire systems is advantageous but not essential.

This is a field-based role requiring regular travel and early starts where needed.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Installation of radio-link fire alarm systems on construction sites

  • Servicing, fault-finding and troubleshooting

  • Ensuring systems are fully operational and compliant

  • Working directly with site managers and contractors

  • Maintaining high safety and customer service standards

  • Regular travel across London, Midlands and nationwide projects

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Positive, motivated and reliable attitude

  • Comfortable with extensive travel and driving

  • Experience working on construction sites

  • CSCS card (or willing to obtain)

  • Full, clean UK driving licence

  • Willingness to work regular overtime

Preferred (but not essential):

  • Electrical qualifications

  • Experience installing fire alarm systems

  • Experience with radio-linked security systems

  • Strong fault-finding ability

We value attitude and trainability as highly as technical experience.

What’s On Offer

  • Company van (following successful probation)

  • Competitive base salary

  • Performance-based bonus

  • Regular overtime opportunities

  • 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays

  • Supportive, team-oriented environment

  • Career progression opportunities

  • Office visits to Dorset approximately every couple of months

Is This You?

You enjoy:

  • Being out on site rather than behind a desk

  • Working independently but part of a team

  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting

  • Delivering high standards of customer service

If you’re based along the M3 corridor and want a role where effort is recognised and rewarded, we’d love to hear from you.
