Job Description
HVAC / Air Conditioning Engineer
High-Specification Vehicles & Mobile Environments
Permanent | Monday–Friday | Workshop-Based | Oxfordshire
Â
Broadreach Recruitment is supporting a specialist operator of high-specification mobile environments and is seeking an experienced HVAC / Air Conditioning Engineer to join a skilled, multi-disciplinary engineering team.
This role will strongly suit engineers from marine outfitting, aviation interiors, or high-end vehicle conversion backgrounds who are used to working on complex, safety-critical HVAC systems in confined, premium environments.
Â
The Role
You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, fault-finding and repair of HVAC systems across a fleet of luxury, high-specification vehicles used in demanding commercial and live-operation environments.
The work is systems-led, detail-driven and quality-focused — comparable to yacht HVAC, aircraft cabin environmental systems, or bespoke mobile platforms, rather than volume automotive servicing.
You’ll work closely with mechanics, builders and engineers in a professional workshop environment, with ongoing training and exposure to new systems.
Â
Key responsibilities include:
-
Servicing, maintaining and repairing HVAC and air-conditioning systems
-
Diagnosing faults across compressors, pipework, controls and distribution systems
-
Working with integrated electrical systems (12v / 24v / 240v AC & DC)
-
Supporting system upgrades and improvements
-
Maintaining high standards of finish, safety and documentation
-
Working collaboratively as part of a skilled engineering team
Â
Who This Role Is For
This role is ideal for engineers from backgrounds such as:
-
Marine HVAC / yacht outfitting
-
Aviation interiors or environmental systems
-
Luxury vehicle conversion or specialist fit-out
-
Bespoke mobile environments (film, broadcast, leisure, expedition vehicles)
If you are used to working where space is tight, systems are integrated, and quality matters, this role will feel familiar.
Â
Essential Experience
-
5+ years’ experience in HVAC or air-conditioning systems
-
Proven fault-finding and diagnostic capability
-
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
-
Reliable, professional and team-oriented
-
Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements
-
Willingness to undertake ongoing training and upskilling
Â
Desirable (Not Essential)
-
Automotive, marine or aviation HVAC experience
-
Knowledge of auxiliary heating systems (e.g. Webasto or similar)
-
Electrical systems knowledge (12v / 24v / 240v AC & DC)
-
Experience with three-phase systems or shore-power integration
-
Solar or alternative charging systems exposure
Â
Working Pattern & Package
-
Permanent, full-time role
-
40 paid hours per week (Monday–Friday)
-
Workshop-based (no shifts)
-
Competitive salary depending on experience
-
Ongoing training and professional development
-
Company pension
Â
Why This Opportunity?
-
Work on high-specification, non-standard platforms
-
Apply marine or aviation skills in a stable, land-based environment
-
Strong work/life balance
-
Long-term role within a technically capable team
-
Exposure to complex, integrated systems — not repetitive work
