Marine Engineer

We're currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established marine engineering business based on the South Cornwall coast. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Marine Engineer to join their friendly and skilled engineering team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in marine engineering who enjoys working on a variety of leisure and small commercial vessels. You'll be responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs, ensuring customers receive a high standard of workmanship and service.
The Role
As a Marine Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Previous experience or formal training with Yanmar, FPT, Suzuki and/or Vetus products, or similar
- Experience working within a main-dealer or authorised-service environment
- Previous experience working in a small to medium sized boatyard / marina
- Relevant marine engineering, mechanical or electrical qualifications
- Experience with both petrol and diesel marine engines
- Experience of electrical systems, charging systems, controls and associated marine equipment
- Sea-trial qualification or demonstrable experience operating boats safely
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Marine Engineer or in a similar marine engineering environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Experience working on inboard and outboard engines.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a close-knit engineering team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A full UK Driving Licence.
