Overview:

Our client, a high-end timber manufacturer based near Newark-on-Trent, is looking for an experienced and detail-driven Finisher/Sprayer to join their workshop team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong eye for detail, who takes pride in achieving flawless finishes and contributing to the production of bespoke timber products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare timber surfaces for finishing, including sanding, filling, and priming.

  • Apply a variety of finishes (e.g. lacquers, stains, paints) using spray equipment and by hand, ensuring a high-quality and consistent result.

  • Maintain a clean and organised spray booth and finishing area.

  • Inspect finished work for quality, colour consistency, and surface finish, making adjustments where necessary.

  • Follow health and safety guidelines when handling and applying finishing products.

  • Work closely with the workshop team to ensure smooth handover between machining, assembly, and finishing.

  • Assist in selecting appropriate finishing methods and materials for each job.

  • Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of spray equipment.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in wood finishing and spraying within a workshop or production environment.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Strong understanding of different finishing products and application techniques.

  • Ability to follow job sheets and colour specifications accurately.

  • Familiarity with health and safety procedures related to spraying and chemical use.

  • Reliable, well-organised, and a strong team player.

Desirable:

  • Experience with bespoke or high-end joinery products.

  • Knowledge of colour-matching or tinting techniques.
