Location: Yeovil, Somerset
Salary: Circa £45,000 per year (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:15

Overview:
We’re recruiting on behalf of our client — a leading decorative arts and bespoke interiors specialist based in Somerset — for a skilled Cabinet Maker with CNC experience to join their talented and creative workshop team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a company that blends traditional craftsmanship with innovative techniques. The work is varied, often one-off, and commissioned by high-end interior designers and private clients both in the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture high-quality bespoke cabinetry, joinery, and furniture pieces from technical drawings and design specifications

  • Set up, program, and operate CNC routers and machinery to accurately cut and machine a range of materials

  • Read and interpret CAD/CAM files, making adjustments to improve efficiency and accuracy

  • Work with a wide range of materials including solid timber, MDF, veneers, and laminates

  • Assemble and finish pieces to exacting standards, ensuring a perfect fit and flawless finish

  • Carry out routine maintenance of tools and CNC equipment

  • Collaborate closely with the wider workshop team, including designers, project managers, and finishers

  • Maintain a safe and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety protocols at all times

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7–8 years’ experience as a cabinet maker or joiner

  • Strong experience programming, setting up, and operating CNC machinery (e.g. Aspire or similar software)

  • Excellent understanding of traditional joinery methods, materials, and finishes

  • Ability to interpret and work from detailed technical drawings and CAD files

  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to high standards

  • Able to work independently as well as part of a wider team

  • Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt during the build process

Desirable Skills:

  • Background in bespoke or high-end furniture production

  • Basic CNC troubleshooting and maintenance knowledge

  • Familiarity with CAD and nesting software

  • Forklift or lifting equipment experience (if applicable)
