Lagger - Thermal Insulation Engineer
Locations: Cornwall & Newton Abbot
Duration: Contract until the end of the year
Pay: Competitive TICA National Agreement Rates (dependent on experience and grade)
Our client is currently looking to recruit experienced Thermal Insulation Engineers (Laggers) to join their team on two prestigious, high-security projects in the South West and West Country.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure long-term contract work through to the end of the year, working on technically challenging projects within secure environments.
The Role
As a Thermal Insulation Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing insulation systems across mechanical services and pipework, ensuring installations meet the highest industry and safety standards.
Typical duties include:
- Installing thermal insulation to pipework, ductwork, vessels and mechanical systems.
- Measuring, cutting and fitting insulation materials.
- Installing protective cladding where required.
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Carrying out repairs and maintenance to existing insulation systems.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to specification.
- Working collaboratively with other trades and site management teams.
Requirements
To be considered, you should have:
- Previous experience as a Thermal Insulation Engineer/Lagger.
- A valid CSCS card (or relevant trade certification).
- Experience working on commercial, industrial or large-scale construction projects.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong health and safety awareness.
Security Clearance
Due to the nature of these projects, security clearance is essential.
Defence-Related Project – Cornwall
Candidates will be required to obtain or already hold SC (Security Check) Clearance.
High Security Prison Project – Newton Abbot
Candidates will be required to pass BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance before commencing work.
