Lagger / Thermal Insulation Engineer
Location: Newton Abbot, Devon
Contract: Temporary / Contract
Duration: Through to the end of November
Rate: £25.00–£26.00 per hour, dependent on experience
Working Pattern: Monday–Friday, with Saturday work available during September
Site Hours: 7:00am–6:00pm, although the client generally likes contractors finished and off site by around 5:00pm
Security: BPSS Clearance required
The Opportunity
Our client is looking to recruit experienced Laggers / Thermal Insulation Engineers to join an ongoing project in Newton Abbot.
The work will predominantly involve H&V / HVAC lagging, insulating pipework and mechanical services, alongside cladding work below 2 metres.
This is a good opportunity for experienced Thermal Insulation Engineers looking for consistent contract work through to the end of November, with additional Saturday work available during September.
The Role
As a Lagger / Thermal Insulation Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out H&V / HVAC lagging
- Installing thermal insulation to pipework and mechanical services
- Measuring, cutting and fitting insulation materials
- Carrying out cladding work below 2 metres
- Fitting protective cladding and finishes to insulated services
- Working from drawings, measurements and site specifications
- Repairing and making good existing insulation where required
- Ensuring insulation is fitted accurately and finished to a good standard
- Working alongside other mechanical trades and site teams
- Following all site health and safety procedures
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
What We're Looking For
To be considered, you should have:
- Previous experience as a Lagger / Thermal Insulation Engineer
- Experience with H&V / HVAC lagging and pipework insulation
- Previous cladding experience
- A valid CSCS card or relevant trade certification
- Experience working within commercial, industrial or large-scale construction environments
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider site team
- Good standard of workmanship and attention to detail
BPSS Clearance
BPSS clearance is a requirement for this site.
Candidates will need to either already hold the relevant clearance or be willing and able to complete the BPSS vetting process before commencing work.
Due to the nature of the site, candidates will need to provide the necessary documentation and information promptly to complete the clearance process.
Hours & Saturday Work
The site operates from 7:00am until 6:00pm, although the client generally prefers contractors to be finished and off site by around 5:00pm.
The project is currently operating Monday to Friday, with Saturday work available during September for contractors looking to pick up additional hours.
