Recruiting for a Costing & Estimating Coordinator to join a leading manufacturing business in specialising in high-quality yacht production.
This role will support the sales and project management teams by producing detailed cost estimates for customer options and modifications, ensuring accurate material and labour inputs are captured within the costing database.
You will work closely with multiple departments including Production, Design, Procurement and Materials Planningto ensure all option costings are accurate and commercially viable.
Key Responsibilities

Collate material requirements for customer options, including identifying components that must be removed from the standard Bill of Materials (BOM) when options are selected.

Produce Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates to support the Sales and Project Management teams in delivering timely client quotations.

Prepare and complete second-level costing reviews in collaboration with Production, Design and Materials Planning teams.

Maintain accurate Option Job Cards within the Finance System, ensuring all material additions and removals from the standard BOM are correctly captured.

Collate and assess labour requirements for optional installations, including identifying time removed from standard build processes.

Work with colleagues across the build process to ensure accurate labour estimates are captured.

Regularly review commonly used options to ensure up-to-date pricing and margins are maintained.

Support new product and equipment research, working alongside Project Managers and Design teams.

Collaborate with Procurement to ensure supplier due diligence and quality standards are met.

Assist Sales Directors with maintaining and updating the Sales Options list.

Provide support to the Build Estimating Manager and deputise when required.
Knowledge & Experience
-
Good knowledge of sailing yachts and marine equipment.

Understanding of manufacturing or boat building processes.

Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOM) or product costing is beneficial.
Skills

Strong numerical and analytical skills.

Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel (Navision experience desirable but training can be provided).

High level of attention to detail and a systematic approach to work.

Ability to prioritise multiple projects and meet deadlines.
